DANNY DYER (GARY)
Danny Dyer is one of Britain’s most popular and well-loved young actors, known for his London cockney charm. Born and raised in London’s East End, Danny received his first big break at 16 when an agent spotted him at his local school and asked him to audition for the role of Martin Fletcher in Prime Suspect 3 (1993).
His first major film breakthrough came with his role as Moff in HUMAN TRAFFIC (1999). Since then he has starred in four other films by the critically acclaimed British director Nick Love; GOODBYE CHARLIE BRIGHT (2001), THE FOOTBALL FACTORY (2004), THE BUSINESS (2005) and OUTLAW (2007) alongside Sean Bean and Rupert Friend.
In 2006, Danny played Steve in Christopher Smith’s horror comedy SEVERANCE and then went on to star in STRAIGHTHEADS (2007) opposite Gillian Anderson. He appeared as Hayden in the Brit cult hit ADULTHOOD (2008) and worked with BAFTA winning Noel Clarke again in Jake West’s DOGHOUSE (2009). DEAD MAN RUNNING was also released in 2009 with Brenda Blethyn and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson.
Other up and coming projects include THE RAPTURE, DEVIL’S PLAYGROUND, JUST FOR THE RECORD, THE LAST SEVEN and finally AGES OF HEROES, an Ian Fleming true story, which also stars Sean Bean.
JIMI MISTRY (DEREK)
Jimi Mistry is well known for his role in the 1999 BAFTA award winning comedy EAST IS EAST, which he also brought to life theatrically both at the Royal Court and in the West End.
Other feature credits include David Kane’s BORN ROMANTIC, THE GURU, the children’s fantasy adventure ELLA ENCHANTED, THIRTY THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU’RE THIRTY, BLOOD DIAMOND alongside Leonardo Di Caprio and Guy Ritchie’s ROCK N ROLLA. Mistry was most recently seen Roland Emmerich’s end of the world epic 2012 and Gurinder Chadha’s comedy IT’S A WONDERFUL AFTERLIFE.
His television appearances include programmes such as spy drama SPOOKS, crime thriller SILENT WITNESS, THIEFTAKERS. Most recently he starred in the BAFTA Scotland nominated FIONA’S STORY for the BBC.
KIERSTON WAREING (SARAH)
Best known for her outstanding performance as lead character Angie in Ken Loach's multi award winning IT’S A FREE WORLD, Kierston also received nominations in the 'Best Actress' and 'Most Promising Newcomer' categories at the British Independent Film Awards and 'Best Actress' at the Venice Film Festival Awards in 2007.
Last year saw Kierston’s appearance in Andrea Arnold’s BAFTA winning feature FISH TANK. In this gritty drama set on a council estate in Essex, Kierston plays a lead character Joanne, the neglectful mother of Mia, alongside Michael Fassbender, Harry Treadaway and newcomer Katie Jarvis. Kierston’s wonderful performance earned her a nomination in the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ category at last year’s British Independent Film Awards.
Kierston will shortly appear in BONDED BY BLOOD in which she takes the role of Kate Smith in a tale about the rise and fall of three prolific drug dealers and criminals.
Kierston has also recently finished FOUR, a four hander in which she stars alongside Brendan Coyle, Martin Compston and Rupert Graves and also FIVE DAUGHTERS, a three-part drama serial for BBC One.
EMILY BEECHAM (PRU)
Emily Beecham trained at LAMDA and in 2009 was selected as a Trailblazer by the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Her first feature role was that of Karen in the Fox Searchlight film 28 WEEKS LATER, the sequel to the original international hit 28 DAYS LATER. She went on to play Kelly in the football feature RISE OF THE FOOTSOLDIER, which was followed by the comedy drama THE CALLING.
Amongst her small screen roles are BBC’s MERLIN, crime thriller SILENT WITNESS, police dramas LEWIS and NEW TRICKS as well as UNFORGIVEN, TESS OF THE D’URBERVILLES and MISS MARPLE: BERTRAM’S HOTEL.
LOIS WINSTONE (SAFFRON)
Lois Winstone began her acting career playing the on-screen daughter of her real life father Ray Winstone in the film LAST ORDERS, which was adapted from the Graham Swift novel of the same title.
She went on to star in the long running police show THE BILL, hospital drama HOLBY CITY, Matt Greenhalgh’s BIG NIGHT OUT and David Richards’ PERFECT DAY.
Further credits include the features BEYOND THE RAVE, FATHER’S OF GIRLS, mystery feature THE RAPTURE alongside Basement star Danny Dyer and she will next be seen in Stephen Frears comedy TAMARA DREWE with Gemma Arterton and Dominic Cooper.
ASHAM KAMBOJ (DIRECTOR)
Asham Kamboj is being recognised by his peers as an up and coming writer/director with a creative eye for detail and a strong gritty/contemporary style. His short film productions STAIN, RENT and SANDWICH have all received widespread acclaim, including screenings at both Raindance and the prestigious London Film Festival. This project is his first foray into the feature film market.
